One to tell the grandkids …

One to tell the grandkids …

Sometimes making memories isn’t pretty. At the time you feel aghast and dumbfounded, there are literally no words that pass your lips other than “I am so sorry!” When the dust has settled though you are able to laugh and set it aside as ‘one to tell the grandkids’.

At the beginning of this year we were battling red numbers on bank accounts and a seeming never ending bombardment of unexpected bills.

This one was hard to write …

This one was hard to write …

This one post has been written and rewritten more times than I care to count, almost impossibly hard to write. The words have become stuck in my throat, choking me as I try to expel the reality of where we are. I have had people question our motives, or belittle the situation to a flippant and cliché remark. Still we live with this every day and only now are others beginning to respond and see that we need help.

Fifth Anniversary – Wood …

Fifth Anniversary – Wood …

Very soon (next weekend) we will be celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary. Apparently it is wood which brought both hubby and I great amusement as we childishly cackled over all wood related innuendo. We should really know better, but I don’t think we ever got the memo!

Five years in to our marriage and blending of our two families, we are still laughing, kissing, cuddling and holding hands. We still make each other blush and tummy’s go over when we think of each other.

Exhaustion …

Exhaustion …

The other week was horrendous in more ways than one. The flu, sinusitis and an inner ear infection have left me at the point of utter exhaustion! I’m still dealing with the aftermath a week later.
Waking up more tired than when I went to bed has made this week beyond challenging. I said to my friend, I know God doesn’t send us more than we are capable of dealing with, but sometimes I feel like calling a time out. I need a few minutes to just pause and catch my breath.

Early mornings …

Early mornings …

Our boy has been an early riser since he was born. There is no such thing as a lie in with him in the house. Although the morning starts were beginning to get a little too early for us. 5am is not a time for anyone to have to see every day! I had heard a few mentions of the Gro Clock previously and Googled it. I watched reviews and the demo video on YouTube. Hesitant about how a glowing clock would help we decided to bite the bullet and get one for our boy in the hope we could say goodbye to the very early mornings.
