Lily and the feathers …

Lily and the feathers …

Mother’s Day is a bitter sweet day for us. Sweet in that we get to make memories with our children, eat great food and spend quality time together. Bitter in that there are children who aren’t with us. Little ones gone too soon that we never got to meet, that we never got to see grow.

My gift from my husband and children this year was just perfect.

Thalassophile …

Thalassophile …

Thalassophile literally means lover of the seas or oceans and although born in the middle England, I spent most of my growing years travelling the world with my family. Wherever we landed we never seemed to be too far from the sea. No wonder my love for the seas and oceans grew deep within my heart.

Let me tell you what I really want …

Let me tell you what I really want …

I often get emails asking me to fill in this survey and that survey, telling them what I really want, and more often than not it ends up in the bin! I had one come through today and I thought I may as well seeing as I had a few minutes to myself. As I was entering in my retail therapy habits it asked me about my homeware habits.

Breathe …

Breathe …

Do you ever have those days when you feel like you’ve been holding your breath all day? You get to the evening, dinner and bedtimes have been done, you slump into your favourite chair and breathe out like you’ve been waiting to do it all day. Sometimes you can reach the end of the week feeling like you’ve been holding one breath in for 5 days and finally the weekend is here and you can exhale at last.

Stormy waters …

Stormy waters …

Last week we sang Oceans, and whilst it isn’t my favourite (and yes I may have groaned inside and rolled my eyes like a petulant teenager) the words were necessary for so many of us. I felt the Holy Spirit fall over us like a soft blanket, and for many I felt they were held by Him for a moment, that their stormy waters were calmed.

September …

September …

Half way through September already. How’d that happen? Feels like it was only a few weeks ago I had paid the deposit for our holibobs and yet here we are a couple weeks post jolly and feeling a bit blue.

I hate the post holiday blues, however this year they’ve been quelled slightly by the fact I’ve already booked next years. We’ve not been in a position to do that before and it was great!

Seeing red …

Seeing red …

There’s no doubt I have a fiery temper when pushed too far, we’ve all reached that point of seeing red over something, but this is not a post about that. It’s all about my hair!
Yes superficial and shallow though it is, changing ones hair colour can be wildly uplifting, liberating or heart breaking. I’ve experienced all of these in my time of colouring my hair. From white blonde all the way through to Mortisha Addams blue black hair. It’s been pixie cut and all the way down to my waist with all lengths in between.

Pass the coffee …

Pass the coffee …

There are some weeks which just seem to take care of themselves. Then there are those where there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get it all done and you spend your day asking someone to pass the coffee.
This week has definitely been one of those weeks.
