There have been times in my life when living hand to mouth would have been a luxury. Feeding myself or my daughter was the only choice and I was unhealthily thin living on cigarets and cups of tea. When you have kids you do whatever it takes. You can make a meal out of anything, even if it’s the last crust of bread and some gravy granules!
When I married Phil, we didn’t have two pennies to rub together. God made miraculous provision for everything l from the flowers, venue, catering and even my dress. When we thought we couldn’t do it God made a way. He’s good like that.
We waited patiently for our rainbow baby and although we lost two we had held on to a prophesy given that before the year was out we would be pregnant. We had only allowed a year to try because we didn’t want to give our lives over to trying to conceive. So we agreed that we would stop trying on our first wedding anniversary. Gods gift to us a year to the day was a positive pregnancy test. 9 months later our healthy 8lbs4oz boy was born and our family was complete. Gods good like that.
All through our marriage we have been budget tight. Pay cheque to pay cheque, a little better off than hand to mouth but with financially supporting 5 children we had to trust that God would stretch our small and make His kind of big. Phil had no stable work for 18 months, but we never missed a bill – not even by one day or one penny! Rent was paid in full and on time. There was money left for treats with the kids and the odd date night cinema trip for us. On paper it just didn’t work, there shouldn’t have been enough money for anything let alone everything and more! But God’s good like that.
When we’ve made do with scrap worthy cars, laughed about the creaks and groans of the mini bus sized car that always smelt of wet dog, when we finally were able to grab a beautiful clean second hand car and afford it, when we’ve been exhausted from driving all day just so I could use the car for a doctors appointment but had to drop everyone else off first – it’s all been worth it because we knew God was listening, waiting, creating and moving on our behalf.
After over 5 years of waiting, as patiently as I can manage, God created a miracle. He sent us a car we not only needed but more importantly could afford to run! This car was made available to us at just the right time. Anxiety over it being ‘too good to be true’ was rife! It’s a human response to an inexplainable manifestation of Gods provision and grace.
We’ve prayed, petitioned and asked others to pray on our behalf and He listened. He’s good like that.
Prayer works, timing is His and His alone, but prayer works. Patience is a key, I’ve no doubt about that, but trust that your faith can move a mountain and that He sees you as worthy of that miracle is paramount!
Psalm 37: 4-5&7 (NLT)
Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you.
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act.

God's provision for a lovely family, who in our time of need 'popped' in and filled our cupboards with essentials (like popping in from Redditch to Tamworth is simples). We are thrilled for you x
