Exhaustion …

Exhaustion …

The other week was horrendous in more ways than one. The flu, sinusitis and an inner ear infection have left me at the point of utter exhaustion! I’m still dealing with the aftermath a week later.
Waking up more tired than when I went to bed has made this week beyond challenging. I said to my friend, I know God doesn’t send us more than we are capable of dealing with, but sometimes I feel like calling a time out. I need a few minutes to just pause and catch my breath.

Happy Birthday to me …

Happy Birthday to me …

This year, this month in fact I turn 36. Happy Birthday to me! I am over the 35 year hill and on my way up to 40 – as my husband constantly reminds me.

As I sit at times contemplating life in general I often think back to my youth and think of the dreams I had for my future. I had plans to graduate as an army officer, until a careers advisor told me I’d be better suited to secretarial work. Then I had plans to top the legal profession and become a barrister, which were dashed by poor choices and a desire to self destruct.

Hello 2016 ….

Hello 2016 ….

2015 went by so fast and I cannot believe we are already saying hello 2016! It felt like it went past in a blur and it’s hard to remember everything that went on.

There were a few changes to our lives, the biggest of them was moving church last Easter. I cannot believe we have been in our new church family for 9 months! It took a while but we feel very settled and content, and we love the warm welcome we have received from the family there.

Early mornings …

Early mornings …

Our boy has been an early riser since he was born. There is no such thing as a lie in with him in the house. Although the morning starts were beginning to get a little too early for us. 5am is not a time for anyone to have to see every day! I had heard a few mentions of the Gro Clock previously and Googled it. I watched reviews and the demo video on YouTube. Hesitant about how a glowing clock would help we decided to bite the bullet and get one for our boy in the hope we could say goodbye to the very early mornings.
