My Travel Essentials …
We have friends and family who live a few hours away from us. My parents-in-love are down in Devon and my bestie is over in Wales. So we rack up the miles when we go visiting, plus it is usually a bit of an ordeal trying to get everyone ready and make sure we’ve got everything too. One thing I get ready the night before and shove in my handbag is my pouch of travel essentials.
The PouchFirst things first, my amazing cotton pouch is from Sundipped, which is also where I get my Peshtamal towels from too. It is small enough to fit into my handbag but still big enough to fit everything in that I need. I also have a second one that

Giving myself permission …
I have had a few ‘a-ha’ moments throughout this year, however the past week or so they appear to be coming thick and fast! I feel like this year I have repeatedly found myself in situations where I am seeking permission to do things. Which is a bit barking, but I am pretty sure I am in no way alone in that behavioural pattern. Why do we, as mothers especially, feel we need permission to have drive, dreams, vision and success?
I have heard women recount the story of the ladder, where aspeaker asked them to list all the things in their life which are a priority. They then said something along the lines of “I bet you I already know your name is at the bottom

Dairy Free Lemon Drizzle Tray Bake
My sons school are doing a bake sale today at lunch time in aid of Children in Need, which I very nearly forgot about! Thankfully I managed to throw together some ingredients together to whip something up. Thank goodness for the marvellous queen of cakes Mary Berry, and her Lemon Drizzle Tray Bake. I am usually the organised one. I already have my 2019 diary filled in with school holidays, summer holiday, birthdays, anniversaries and the next dental appointments. How this slipped passed the radar is beyond me. Regardless I had to roll my sleeves up, drag the husband into the kitchen to help, and get cracking. I had managed to sort Cal out with a very cool dude outfit thanks to manic trip to George at

Dairy Free Rocky Road …
I had forgotten how much I love a simple recipe, especially one involving chocolate. Although since becoming dairy free I have, for unknown reasons, not tried many sweet recipes. Mainly because avocado chocolate mousse just doesn’t really float my boat! Anyway, it took a little trial and error to get the right set on it, but got there in the end, so here is my dairy free rocky road recipe with a twist. Traditionally rocky road has glace cherries in, which I detest, so I swapped them out for dried cranberries which to my mind work perfectly with the dark chocolate. It is also useful to bear in mind that not all dark chocolates are what they appear to be, and the vast majority of cheaper

Birchbox {August 2018} …
Disclaimer: This is a review for which I have been gifted this August’s Birchbox, at no cost to myself, in exchange for a blog post. As always all opinions are my own and I have not been asked to provide any specific links, however I have included some affiliate links (details of how these work can be found here) and I have identified them with an asterisk (*). This month BirchBox has teamed up with Etsy designers from across the UK to create some pretty special boxes. I was so pleased when asked if I would like to be gifted one as they are super cute. It also meant I could share some goodies with my daughter. I received the Jade Fisher design, which is super
